HUDSON – The American Heritage Museum will be holding its World War II tank demonstration next weekend.

Visitors will be able to see some of the museum’s tanks – including the M4 Sherman and the M24 Chaffee – along with other rare military vehicles. The museum will operate the very rare M261A1 Pershing, M18 Hellcat and German Jagdpanzer 28 Hetzer.

To help bring the machines to life, there will be historical narration and the participation of World War II veterans who served in these tanks during the war.

Additionally, all three museums — the American Heritage Museum, Historic Aviation Hanger and Classic Automobile Barn — will be open.

The demonstration will be Aug. 13 and 14 from 9 am to 5 pm

Tickets cost $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and veterans and $15 for children under the age of 12. Members, children under the age of 3 and World War II and Korean War veterans can attend for free.

People can purchase tickets online or at the entrance.

Attendees can also participate in tank driving experiences and rides, which will be taking place over the weekend.

The price to drive a M24 Chaffee Light tank for 20 minutes is a $995 donation, and the price to drive a M4 Sherman medium tank for 20 minutes is a $1,495 donation. The cost for a 10-minute ride in the M24 Chaffee is $595 per group of three, and the cost for a 10-minute ride in the M4 Sherman is $595 per group of two.
