The fifth day of the IV WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup will begin in Taichung with a key game for the defending World Champions, Venezuela. They will face Germany in a must-win. Another key game in Group A is scheduled in Taichung for the afternoon, with World No. 1 Japan facing Colombia.
In Group B Puerto Rico is looking for their debut after suffering two postponements. The afternoon game between the Netherlands and Korea looks like another must-win situation for both.
The WBSC Technical Commission moved all Group B games from Taipei to Dou Liou because of inclement weather forecasts.
The Dou Liou Stadium is one of the three venues of the U-23 World Cup.
Douliou City is in Yunlin County, 220 kilometres south of Taipei City. As the island’s Central Weather Bureau reported, the area is less affected by the heavy rains caused by typhoon Nesat.
