Vince McMahon: Bobby Lashley offers interesting opinion on WWE retirement

Vince McMahon may no longer be running things in WWE following his retirement, but one WWE Superstar believes he won’t completely be gone from the company.

Last month McMahon sent shockwaves through the wrestling industry with his decision to retire from WWE, following allegations against the WWE Chairman.

In his place, Vince’s daughter Stephanie McMahon was named as co-CEO of the company alongside Nick Khan.

However, according to United States Champion Bobby Lashley, Vince McMahon won’t entirely be gone from the company and that he’s just giving other people opportunities to keep the company going.

Speaking to ESPN the Almighty said.

“It’s not like Vince isn’t going to be there anymore. He’s not going to just let his baby that he’s grown to this level just falter. So, he’s still going to be there. He’s just giving other people opportunities to keep pressing on .”

Along with Stephanie’s new role, Lashley also commented on the new man in charge, Triple H, who as well as his role as Executive Vice President of Talent Relations is now head of WWE creative as well.

“Stephanie, she’s been in the business her whole entire life, so it’s not like she doesn’t know. … And look what he did with NXT; that’s a big thing Triple H did. So, he’s just going to take that same mentality and same philosophy, building stars, bring it up to the main roster, which is cool. It’s going to be refreshing.”

The 46-year-old’s comments are somewhat contradictory to some reports that have suggested that references to the former WWE CEO have all been removed backstage.

Lashley will be in action next week on Raw when he defends his United States Championship against Ciampa. The Blackheart won both a triple threat bout and a match against AJ Styles to become the new number one contender for Bobby’s championship.
