Pulse of Culture 19.10 | TVP World

In this episode of TVP World’s Pulse of Culture, our programme’s host Agata Konarska introduces viewers to the video installation “Romanticism”, which is to be seen in the Berlin edition of the Year of Polish Romanticism, whose underlying idea is to take the works of the Polish bard, Adam Mickiewicz, directly to the streets.

“The Romantic” is a project put together by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Polish Institute in Berlin. It is centred on a video installation based on the seminal ballad “Romanticism” by Adam Mickiewicz. Apart from the video installation, volumes of three poems by Adam Mickiewicz in German, French, and English will be handed out at the Institute. All will be available at the Polish Institute in Berlin until November 13.

This episode also featured an extraordinary exhibition dedicated to the works of French painter Claude Monet and American Joan Mitchell has opened at the Louis Vitton Foundation in Paris. The collection shows the influence of the French impressionist on the work of the American painter and printmaker. You can journey into the world of artists from two different eras until February 27, 2023.

Other events covered in this episode include Qatar transforming itself into a huge art gallery in anticipation of the World Cup, the Young Polish Cinema Festival opening in Vilnius on October 20, and the most expensive art to ever go under the hammer exhibited at Christie’s Auction House ahead of the auction.
