The Carpinteria Dog Owners Group (C-DOG) will hold its annual Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume and Trick for Treat contests, 3 pm Sunday, Oct. 30 at El Carro Park in Carpinteria.

There will be prizes for the scariest, funniest, best homemade, and most creative costumes. The Trick for Treat contest categories include most enthusiastic, most skilled, funniest trick, and best concentration. Registration begins at 3 pm, and dogs must be leashed at all times.

“For contests of this importance and difficulty of judging, we’ve had to search far and wide for the highest-quality judges,” said Van Fleisher, president of C-DOG.

The result is a panel of judges that includes Carpinteria Mayor Wade Nomura; John Palminteri, TV-radio reporter and anchor; Dennis Mitchell, broadcaster, Carpinteria Valley Radio; Jamie Collins, executive director, Girls Inc, Carpinteria; Marybeth Carty, trustee, Santa Barbara County Board of Education; and Sally Galati, vice-president, Carpinteria Beautiful.

Participants can increase their chance of winning a prize by entering the social media contest on Facebook, and Instagram. For more information, contact Fleisher at [email protected] or phone 747-334-2898.
