Government Announces Form One Placement, How To Check And Download

Schools can access their combined list of students placed to their list on the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS).
On Monday, January 16, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu unveiled the results of the form one placement. Machogu reiterated that the process was fair with most candidates getting their school of choice.
He added that all 1.2 million candidates that sat the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) were placed in schools.
“I wish to announce that this year’s Form One selection was fully computerized from National to sub-county levels,” Machogu reiterated.
Information on placement is also available on the Ministry of Education portal www(dot)education(dot)go(dot)ke and click the ‘Form One Placements’ icon.
“For any queries, check on the ‘frequently asked questions (FAQ) section. Assistance may be obtained by writing an email to placement(at)education(dot)go(dot)ke,” Machogu announced.

According to the CS, candidates who secured more than 400 marks and above in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) were admitted to national and extra-county schools of choice.
The Education Boss noted that parents who are dissatisfied with the schools their children were placed in can make arrangements with their schools of choice.
How To Check Via SMEs:
- Open your phone’s sms app
- Go to your sms app on your phone and create a new message.
- Write your index number
- In the body section, Write your KCPE 2022 index number.
- Send to 22263
- Send the KCPE index number to 22263. The sms short code for checking KCPE selection and placement results is 22263.
- You shall then receive your form 1 2023 selection results. That is the school you have been selected to join form one.
How To Download
- Step 1: Visit the Kenya Ministry of Education Website
- Step 2: Now Choose the county and sub-county where you sat for your KCPE 2022
- Step 3: Type in your KCPE 2022 index number.
- Step 4: Submit Your Entries
- Step 5: Check the bottom of the loaded page to find your form 1 admission letter and joining instructions.
- Step 6: To download your form 1 admission letter for 2022 KCPE candidates, click on it and print or download it.
- Step 7: Present a hard copy of your KCPE 2022 admission letter to the school you have been selected for validation
- Step 8: Prepare and present yourself with the requisite accommodations as noted in your form 1 joining instructions. You shall be admitted to form 1 and start your high school studies.
