Brookline Compiling 2023 Diverse & Inclusive Business Directory

BROOKLINE, MA — The Town of Brookline is currently compiling its second Diverse and Inclusive Business Directory to highlight and celebrate Brookline’s diverse, accessible, and inclusive independent business community.
Brookline’s Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Relations (ODICR) released its first Diverse and Inclusive Business Directory in January 2022. This year, the office is incorporating community feedback to better highlight the intersectionality of business ownership.
“We hope this directory will continue to evolve and serve as a marketing and networking tool for businesses, as well as help the Town of Brookline better align and develop programs and resources to meet the needs of Brookline’s diverse businesses,” the ODICR said in a statement.
Now through November, the town is actively collecting a list of Brookline’s businesses that are accessible, and/or are majority owned by people of color, women, LGBTQ+, veterans, and persons with disabilities to add to the 2023 Directory.
Included businesses must be based in Brookline and the updated directory will be published in January 2023.
Those who are interested in being included in the directory may fill out the Diverse and Inclusive Business Directory Submission Form. To learn more about the directory out ask questions, contact Caitlin Starr, MPH, CDE at cstarr@brooklinema.gov or 617-730- 2345.
