RACICE – David Bewicke-Copley ’20 helped the Great Britain 8+ earn gold at the 2022 World Rowing Championships.
Bewicke-Copley ’20 and Great Britain 8+ earned the gold medal with a victory by over a second (5:24.41) over the Netherlands. That boat also won its heat en route to the final.
“To see David earn a gold medal is so awesome,” said Princeton head coach Greg Hughes. “He’s not only a great rower, but a tremendous leader because of the hard work he’s put in to get to this point.”
Tom George ’18 and Oliver Wynne-Griffith of Great Britain’s 2- picked up a bronze medal (6:30.86), just behind Romania (6:28.06) and Spain (6:29.27).
Jonas Juel ’22 and Norway’s 4X boat was fourth in the B Final (5:49.57) to secure 10th place.
Nick Mead ’17 and the US 4- were fourth in the B Final (6:00.87), earning 10th overall.
Dan DeGroot ’19 and Gavin Stone of Canada’s 2X were fifth in the B Final (6:26.17) to collect an 11th place finish.
