Gardai seize over €5,000 worth of cocaine, Rolex watch in Drogheda search

Gardai in Drogheda recovered over €5,000 worth of cocaine on Tuesday, during a search conducted under warrant. One man was arrested.

Officers attached to the Divisional Drugs Unit based in Drogheda Garda Station conducted the search as part of Operation Stratus.


That operation commenced in October 2018 in Drogheda to combat organised crime activity in the town and its wider environs.

During the course of Tuesday’s search the quantity of cocaine estimated to be worth €5,285 was recovered, as well as cannabis worth €380. The substances were seized as was evidence supporting the sale and supply of illegal drugs, such as a small scale.

A Rolex watch was also seized by Gardai.

A sum of cash was also seized by officers, with Gardaí believing the money was obtained from the proceeds of crime.

The male suspect was arrested at the scene for an offence contrary to Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977/84. He was brought to Drogheda Garda Station.
