Dundalk Gaels underage girls teams have enjoyed a stellar first year of competition in 2020 – and the Under 14 Girls team, championship finalists, are celebrating with a new shirt sponsor.
Local company Control Soft Automations Systems have sponsored a set of jerseys for the club’s Under 14 Girls team, who will end their first year as a team in the LGFA Under 14 E Championship Final.

Their final appearance – after winning four of their six league games in their group – with victories against Glyde Rangers/Westerns – was a considerably impressive achievement considering many of the young players were playing Gaelic football for the first time.
2020 marked the first year that the Ramparts club had juvenile LGFA teams in its ranks. The club held a registration night last October as they set out on the road to establishing a girls football section.
On the first night, 100 girls signed up. The idea had first been formed by club members Keelin Lambert and Sarah McDonnell.
Players Rachel Culligan, Molly Williams, Aleksandra Wozniak and Ciara Cunningham, as well as coach Ciaran Culligan joined Peter McGinnity and Dermot Carragher of Control Soft Automations at the company’s North Link Business Park as the new jerseys were officially presented to the team.
