Arrest made after €9,120 Knockbridge drug seizure

A 20 year old man has been arrested following a drug seizure worth over €9,000 in Dunbin, Knockbridge, Dundalk on Tuesday.

Uniformed officers from Dundalk Garda Station were accompanied by members of the Armed Support Unit as they carried out the operational search on Tuesday (August 18). The discovery was the result of an intelligence lead search which targeted the sale and supply of drugs in the Dundalk District.


The male, who was arrested at the scene, is being detained at Dundalk Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The total amount of the seized suspected cannabis was €9,120.

This is the second known drugs seizure carried out in the Dundalk area within the past 24 hours, after Dundalk Gardai discovered a grow house containing €310,000 of cannabis plants and substances earlier the same day.
