The volunteers behind Meals On Wheels Dundalk are asking for locals for help to ‘Fill A Bus’ this coming Thursday (August 13) as they seek to provide hampers for vulnerable and elderly people in the community.
The group are seeking food and household items and intend to fill a bus with donations on Thursday with a dedicated bus parked at Dundalk Bus Station on Longwalk in the town.
The bus will be parked from 10pm and 6pm and people are welcome to attend and deposit their contributions.
Among the items required for donation are; bistro granules, powdered custard, powdered cornflour, tins of fruit, creamed rice, stock cubes, chicken cubes, crisp and dry cooking oil, tin foil, brillo pads, washing up liquid, kitchen cream spray, disinfectant spray, disposable gloves, tea and coffee and kitchen paper.
The Meals on Wheels programme is run by the Dundalk Social Services Council and the ‘Fill A Bus’ initiative is supported by Bus Eireann.
