Bellingham Castle named one of Ireland’s top small hotels

Bellingham Castle has been named one of Ireland’s top small hotels in travel giant Tripadvisor’s 2020 Travelers’ Choice Awards.

The popular wedding venue, based in Castlebellingham, placed fourth on the list of nationwide venues, behind poll-topper Heaton’s Guesthouse in Dingle, Co. Kerry.


Speaking to LouthNow.ie, Owner of Bellingham Castle, Patrick Corscadden commented; “We are absolutely delighted to be ranked at number 4 in the list of Top 25 Small Hotel in Ireland and to also be in included in the Top 25 Hotels for Best in Service. This is our fifth year being listed in the Trip Advisor – Travellers Choice Awards, and each year is as special as the last.”

“We pride ourselves on providing the very best for our guests, from service to facilities, so we are delighted that the results show this. Our staff are a constant feature of glowing reports and this is testament to their hard work.”

Tripadvisor’s yearly award winners are calculated based on travelers feedback and reviews shared across the year on its website. The awards consider the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings specific to each award category.


Corscadden continued; “These awards are voted by our guests, which makes them extra special for us. When you are awarded awards like these, you know for sure that you are doing something right, and that’s why these awards are extra special for us.”

Bellingham Castle was the only Louth-based representative across the categories and also ranked 16th in the list for Best Hotel Service. Harvey’s Point in Donegal being crowned Ireland’s top hotel overall, for the seventh time in eight years.

We’re passionate about guiding travelers to the good out there, especially the good found within these recognised hotels, restaurants and airlines that rise to the occasion in offering the best of the best,” said Lindsay Nelson, chief experience and brand officer at Tripadvisor.
