Man charged after fatal Louth collision leaves three people dead

A man has been charged in connection with the fatal road traffic collision that occurred in the north of the county on Saturday morning last, in which three people lost their lives.

The man, aged in his 20s, was arrested and charged at Dundalk Garda Station on Sunday. He is due to appear before a special sitting of Dundalk District Court at 10.30am on Monday (March 2).


The fatal two-car collision occurred on the N1 at Carrickcarnan, north of Dundalk at approximately 2.15am. The occupants of one of the cars, Kevin and Mary Faxton, were pronounced dead at the scene.

One of two male occupants of the second car, Bryan Magill, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
