A Mercedes Benz and €5,000 in cash were among the items seized in Louth this morning during a search conducted by the Criminal Assets Bureau in connection with the an investigation into a Moldovan organised crime gang.
The search, at a residence in the county, was conducted with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit and the Revenue Customs Dog Unit, as well as an expert in property valuation.
The white Mercedes Benz AMG C200 coupe with a 171 registration was seized as was the €5,000 sum of cash and a number of electronic devices including laptops and mobile phones. Documents and banking records were also seized by Gardai.
The Criminal Assets Bureau has also secured a court restraining order for an approximate sum of €30,000 currently lodged with a financial institution.
CAB are currently targeting assets linked to the Moldovan crime gang, who investigators suspect are heavily involved in the sale and supply of illicit drugs.
The Bureau say that their investigation is focused particularly on the purchase and extensive re-development of the residential property that was searched by officers.
