Our photographer Kathy Gilroy-Barry was busy at the count centre in Dundalk all day, once again, on Monday, working hard to capture the agony and the ecstasy of candidates, family and supporters as counting in the Louth constituency continued. With Imelda Munster and Ruairí Ó Murchú having comfortably taken the first two seats, five candidates fought for the three that remained.
Peter Fitzpatrick, Ged Nash, Fergus O’Dowd, Declan Breathnach and Mark Dearey were all in contention and all five enjoyed ups and downs during a tumultuous day at The Carnbeg Hotel. Here, we look back over the day in images. Tap to expand and scroll.
