Rape Crisis North East are recruiting voluntary helpline counsellors and are running a Helpline Training Programme starting in early March.

The 10 day workshops will take place over a five week period from Wednesday March 4 to Friday Thursday April 2, every Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am to 4pm at the Cherrywood Counselling Centre, Great Northern Distillery Offices, Carrick Road, Dundalk.

RCNE are asking new volunteers to give up four hours of their time per week to provide telephone counselling support to survivors of rape and sexual violence.

Anyone interested in becoming a helpline volunteer can contact Rape Crisis North East on 042 933 9491 or 1800 21 21 22 to obtain an application form. Alternatively, you can e-mail [email protected] or visit http://www.rcne.ie to download a form.

Training is free and applicants must be at least 25 years of age. The closing date for applications is Friday February 14 2020.

RCNE Helpline Service provides an invaluable service to many victims of rape and sexual abuse who need someone to talk to. All telephone volunteers are trained to listen, support and offer information and counselling support to callers who use the line.
