Promotion chasing Square United have been named the North East Football League Team of the Month for September – while Boyne Harps have won the October prize.

The Ardee side have enjoyed a sensational campaign to date, remaining unbeaten in all nine Division One fixtures to date to leave them on the cusp of promotion to the Premier Division for the 2019 season.

Square have won six and drawn three of their nine games meaning a win in their last game of the season will see them go up. In September, Square enjoyed a 3-0 win over Albion while they also earned a point in a 1-1 draw with OMP United.

To date, Square and Premier Division duo Muirhevnamor and Boyne Harps are the only teams in the top five divisions of the NEFL that have not suffered defeat in the truncated 2018 season.

Boyne Harps continued their stunning early season form in October. They finished the month with a 100% league record, having won seven of seven games to build a commanding eight point gap at the top tier summit.

Both clubs receive a €300 O’Neill’s Sports voucher as part of their prize. Donacarney Celtic won the prize for August 2018.
