Sinn Fein councillor Pearse McGeough has once again raised the issue of vehicles speeding in Annagassan, calling the current situation “extremely dangerous”.
In a motion put to his fellow Ardee and Mid-Louth councillors on Thursday last week, McGeough called for the provision of traffic calming measures in the coastal village.
“Something needs to be done,” McGeough said. “Hopefully it’s not being put on a shelf to gather dust. There’s a 50km limit in Annagassan but this speed is not being adhered to. It is extremely dangerous.”
In response, the local authority say engineers will review the location to assess the situation.
