Around 160 ESB customers in the Ardee area are without power this afternoon due to a fault, according to ESB Networks.

The fault – which comes as around 16,000 customers throughout the country are without power due to heavy flooding and high winds from Storm Eleanor overnight – left some customers in the town centre and on the north side of the town without power.

ESB Networks estimate that that full supply will be restored by 2.30pm at the latest.

A number of businesses in Ardee have reported loss of power today. “We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible,” ESB Networks say.

According to Powercheck, this fault is the only supply outage being experienced in Louth. Some homes and premises were without power in Castlebellingham and Kilsaran on Tuesday evening.
