Everyone is welcome to the first Christmas Coffee Morning to be held by the Ardee YouthReach Centre of Education – being held this Friday (December 15th) at Ardee St Marys GFC.
The event will include Christmas cards, crafts and gifts (above and below) for purchase while there will also be children’s games and face painting – and of course, tea, coffee and refreshments for visitors. Proceeds from sales will go to the Simon Community.
It gets underway at 10am and runs until 12pm so anyone who is free and in the area are encouraged to come along and bring a friend.
The touthReach programme in Ardee began in June 2017 with it’s first group of students. It was announced a year earlier that the programme was coming to Ardee. While initial efforts to secure a permanent home was unsuccessful, YouthReach has been operating out of Ardee St Marys GFC clubrooms for the last six months.
YouthReach offers QQI General Learning courses at NFQ Levels 2, 3 & 4 as well as support in literacy & numeracy and also preparation for employment or further education.
Among the subjects on offer at the moment are Communications, Customer Service, Art, ICT, Maths, Career Preparation, Workplace Safety and Personal Effectiveness. Learners must be between the ages of 15 and 20 and have left education and training with qualifications at less than Level 4 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
If you are between the ages of 15 and 20, have left mainstream school early and want to further your education and embrace new, challenging opportunities, Ardee YouthReach want to hear from you.
