The Saint Vincent de Paul annual Christmas door-to-door collection starts this week in Ardee and continues for the next two weeks, with locals asked to give what they can and support a very important and worthwhile organisation in the town.

Members will be calling door-to-door throughout Ardee and all collectors have high visibility vests with the Saint Vincent de Paul logo (above) printed on it and they will also carry permits and identification cards too.

All money collected in Ardee will stay locally. If anyone misses the collection, they are advised that they can leave envelopes in the church marked ‘Saint Vincent de Paul’.

“All money collected will go towards the Ardee branch and all money will be spent locally,” organiser Tony Murphy told ThisIsArdee.ie this week.

If anyone in the locality feels that need help from the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, they can contact 087 645 8038 in the strictest confidence. All members of Ardee SVP are volunteers. For more information on the Ardee collection, you can contact co-ordinator Tony Murphy on 087 416 2204.

Established in 1844, SVP are the largest, voluntary, charitable organisation in Ireland with over 11,000 volunteers nationwide.
