Irish Water are undertaking network works in Dawson’s Demesne in Ardee this week – and roadworks will also be in place in De La Salle Crescent next week, starting Monday December 4th.
Work on the upgrade of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Ardee got underway in October with work on Tierney Street and with the project including the upgrade of sewer networks across the town, the next phase includes work in Dawson’s Demesne this week and De La Salle next week.
Speaking to ThisIsArdee.ie on Wednesday, local councillor Dolores Minogue commented, “It’s great to see works being done and this infrastructure is being fixed up. There will be disruption at times that people should be aware of.”
“The majority of the work will take place at the plant but these offshoots of the networks need to be sorted first. I want people to be aware, if there are delays, to give themselves a few extra minutes going about their day.”
The upgrade works will be carried out by Wills Bros Limited and EPS working on behalf of Irish Water and Louth County Council. If you would like further information or have a complaint regarding the works, you can contact the project team on 087 2913280.
€7.5 million is being spent on the upgrade to the Ardee Wastewater Treatment Plant which will also include an upgrade to the Irish Street Wastewater Pumping Station and the designing and building of sewer network upgrades in the town.
Irish Water say the upgrade will see the capacity of the plant raised from 5,000pe to 10,000pe – which should more than faciliate the current usage and water flow in the town. The entire upgrade will take approximately 18 months to two years to complete.
