Ardee Community this month started running their 2017 programmes of Classes for Parents – and those interested in attending are encouraged to come along or get in touch to find out more.
A total of six classes taking in a wide range of practical subjects began earlier in the month at the school, taking place in the school building itself or nearby in Ardee Parish Centre.
Ardee Community School organises classes for parents throughout the year. These are funded by the Community Education Dept., Dundalk and Family Learning Drogheda, both part of Louth Meath Education & Training Board.
Co-ordinated by Home School Liason Officer Bridget Smith, classes include – Healthy Cooking on a Budget, Dressmaking Level 3, Refresher Maths, Computers QUI Level 3, Yoga and First Aid.
The schedule for classes is as follows: Healthy Cooking on a Budget for Family & Friends runs on Mondays from 10.15am to 12.15pm in Ardee Community School. It is a six week course. Dressmaking Level 3 is a 10 week course currently running on Tuesdays from 11.45am and 1.45pm in the Parish Centre.
The 12-week Computer QUI Level 3 – which takes in basics such as e-mail and Microsoft Word – runs from 10am and 12pm on Tuesdays. Refresher Maths, aimed at helping the parent help the pupil, runs on Wednesdays between 9.45am and 11.15am. These are both in the school building.
Yoga runs from 10.30am to 12pm on Wednesday’s while the First Aid basiscs course runs in the Parish Centre on Thursday’s from 10am to 12pm.
Additionally, a flower arranging course gets underway on Monday December 4th in the Parish Centre.
