Staff from Allcare Pharmacy presented a cheque for over €1,500 to the Ardee branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association in their store on Castle Street today.

Representatives from the local branch of the IWA – Frank McCourt, Karen Glass, Mary McCormack and Kathleen McConnon – were on hand to accept the cheque for a total of €1,580.80. Pictured above are staff members Peter Mullen, Alison Cotter and Samantha Connolly.

Over the summer staff from O’Flynn’s Allcare Pharmacy were fundraising for the Irish Wheelchair Association with €1,200 raised by July. They added another €300 on top of that in what was a great fundraising effort.

Along with their customers, staff in the Castle Street pharmacy were raising funds as part of the ‘Give for Good’ campaign. They held a Pop-a-Balloon competition and staff members also took to the street for a day long Cycle-a-thon. Additionally, customers were being asked to donate €1 with every purchase, at their discretion.

Karen Glass from the IWA Shop in Ardee thanked the staff for their efforts. “The staff at Allcare Pharmacy have done a great job in their fundraising over the summer and the IWA is so grateful for this gernous donation they have presented today,” she told ThisIsArdee.ie.

Allcare Pharmacy is a 100% Irish owned network of over 80 community pharmacies located across the country, employing over 500 people.
