The first of a series of Ardee town centre overnight road closures began at 8pm on Thursday evening, ending this morning (Friday) at 6am. There was no access to and from the Kells Road from the town centre, with diversions via Blakestown and John Street available.
There was a stop and go system in place on Castle Street, with work being undertaken right on the junction between the main street and the N52. The same closure will be in place tonight (Thursday) from 8pm to 6am (Friday morning). Only local access will be provided during the overnight closures.
Louth County Council are also undertaking work on Tierney Street from 8pm tonight (Thursday September 7th) to Friday September 8th at 6am. Some locals on Boat Trench reported heavy commercial vehicles attempted to access Castle Street via the narrow laneway overnight, with residents having to help them reverse out when it proved unnavigable.
Our man with the camera Adrian Crawley popped out to take a look.
