Ardee Celtic have been handed an away trip in the second round of the 2017 FAI Junior Cup, with the Deesiders paired with Ballyogan Celtic in Round Two.

Conor Lynch’s team will face the team from Leopardstown in the second round of the junior football cup competition, that ends in an Aviva Stadium showpiece next year. Sheriff YC are the current holders, having won the cup in 2015/16 and 2016/17.

Celtic’s trip to face Ballyogan is due to be played on Sunday, October 1st. Their return to the competition comes after their last outing in March 2015, when they went down 0-8 to eventual finalists and perennial cup chasers Sheriff.

The Font join fellow NEFL clubs Trim Celtic, Kentstown Rovers, Quay Celtic, Enfield Celtic, Parkvilla, Bellurgan United, Kingscourt Harps, Newfoundwell FC, Trim Town and OMP United in the second round draw. Dundalk’s Muirhevmamor will have to negotiate a first round tie with Vale View Shankill FC.

The Ardee side play in this year’ NEFL Premier Divison and begun their season with a 2-3 reverse away to Bellurgan United. They travel to United Park to play Boyne Harps on Thursday evening this week. They also sealed Kilmessan Shield progress over the weekend, courtesy of a 7-2 win over Woodview Celtic – which followed their 1-1 draw with Quay Celtic on the Point Road.

Ardee Celtic will hold their Las Vegas themed Casino Night fundraiser on Friday October 6th in Luna Nightclub, Ardee. Tickets are €20 per person and can be bought from Conrad Clinton on 087 7977373.

The club also host a 5K/10K Bog Run on Sunday October 1st, in association with Ardee Hospice Homecare. A 10k, which costs €20 to run, will take place at 10am with a 5K Family Run to follow later.

Registration for the 10K must be done online at http://www.popupraces.ie. Registration for the 5K, which costs €10 for adults and €5 for children, can be done from 9am at Townparks. The event is full chipped and all 10K runners get a t-shirt.
