The first of a number of town centre road closures implemented by Louth County Council came into effect this evening in Ardee, with the Kells Road closed to through traffic from 8pm tonight until 6am tomorrow (Thursday, Sept 7th).
The closures are for road strengthening works. The same stretch of the N52 will be closed to traffic tomorrow night (Thursday) from 8pm to 6am (Friday morning). Diversions to Mandistown Cross via Blakestown and John Street will be available. Only local access will be provided during the overnight closures.
Barriers and signs around the N52 Kells Road have been laid out this evening to facilitate the start of the work.
Tierney Street – from the main street to the end of the cul-de-sac – will also be closed from 8pm on Thursday September 7th to Friday September 8th at 6am.
Next week will see road closures on both John Street and Hale Street to facilitate works. Hale Street, to Richardstown Road, will be closed from 8pm to 6am every night/morning from Monday September 11th to Thursday September 14th.
John Street – from the junction with the N2 towards Shanlis Cross – will be closed during the same times. Again, local access will be provided.
