Ardee Concert Band awards night date announced

Ardee Concert Band will hold their annual awards night later this month.

All senior and junior members, parents, friends, supporters and prospective new members are welcome to the event which will be held at the band’s base at The Bohemian Centre in Ardee from 7.30pm on Thursday, September 14th. There’ll be performances on the night too.


The event will also act as an enrolment evening for new members, so anyone interested in joining the band’s ranks are asked to attend. Admission will be free.

Founded in 1860, Ardee Concert Band is the third oldest concert band in Ireland. In over 150 years in operation, they have achieved much and received wide acclaim in Ardee, Louth and beyond.

In July, Ardee Concert Band took home a staggering seven trophies from the Annual South of Ireland Band Championships in Clonakilty. They have now won 15 awards in just over two years in at the Championships. Earlier in the year, the band finished second in the 52th National Band Championships competition, as well as taking home a prize for Best Brass Section.

Ardee Concert Band are supported by the Arts Council, music Network and the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
