Ardee-based supported living and care company Praxis Care has purchased a new property in the centre of Ardee which will act as a residence for three service users.

The two-storey detached house – located on the Tierney Street side of the bridge linking the street with Dawson’s Demesne was built in 2010 and was purchased by Praxis earlier this year. ‘The Avenue’ has never been lived in and according to the company, it will be brought into service over the next few months.

Praxis are also looking at other properties in the Ardee area with a view to purchasing and housing service users in order to meet the high demand for their residential services. In this and other instances, each individual in the home will have their own bedroom and washing facilities but will share communal areas with other members of the group. Tenants are supported by staff and are encouraged to live independently whilst receiving the support they need on a daily and nightly basis.

Aisling Digney, Praxis’ Person in Charge in Ardee, showed the company’s Chief Executive Officer Nevin Ringland around the new property – with three bedrooms and covering circa 1,600m sq – ahead of it being occupied later in the year, the company hope.

Praxis operate in Northern Ireland, England and the Republic of Ireland, with their Irish operating based in Ardee at Ardee Business Park. The company employs around 1,500 people in total. They provides services to people with learning difficulties, dementia, mental illness and those with acquired brain injuries.

The company are currently hiring an Administrative Assistant to be based in their Ardee office. More information on the role is available here.
