It is expected that the Bliss Tea Rooms on Irish Street will open it’s doors later this year – with the new business today unveiling it’s branding and social media presence ahead of their upcoming opening.
The new shop and tea rooms will open in the former J Malone shop on Irish Street in the town – with the owners hopeful of an October opening. The major building work is in its final stages with only cosmetic work to be undertaken after that.
The Bliss Tea Rooms will be run by Mark and Martina Coscoran and has been on the cards a lengthy period of time after they bought the building and were granted conditional planning permission to begin the work in the Spring of 2016.
Formerly May Muckian’s sweet shop, the premises is fondly remembered by locals of a certain vintage. Work on the build and renovation has taken a considerable amount of time – due to the sizable works that needed to be done inside.
The shop front is under a Louth County Council conversation order meaning that only certain work can be carried out on the exterior. To avoid any work or alterations to the existing vintage J Malone sign, the new shopfront signage will be mounted above the existing sign (pictured above). There will also be special conservation repair and refurbishment to the timber shopfront.
The new venture will consist of a small sweet shop and tea room on the ground floor of the building and additional tea room seating upstairs.
Today, the business launched it’s Facebook page and branding (above). The logo was designed by Betsy Sue Letters who specialises in Modern Calligraphy and Letting Services. You can check out the Facebook page by clicking the link here.
