Officers from Ardee Gardai Station are seeking witnesses to a significant fuel theft that occurred at the Stepaside Service Station in Ardee late last week.

The theft happened between 7pm on Thursday July 6th and 9am on Friday July 7th at the filling station. Two metal grids on the ground of the forecourt were lifted and a large amount of unleaded fuel was siphoned in the incident.

Gardai say they believe the theft will have required a large vehicle or multiple vehicles given the amount of fuel taken and that incident caused “significant financial loss” to the business. Gardai are appealing for anyone in the area or who passed who may have witnessed activity at the station at that time. It may have appeared as a fuel delivery.

Anyone with information can contact Ardee Gardai Station on 041 687 1130 or call the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
