Parents, locals and anyone looking to visit or get in touch with Ardee Community School over the coming months are advised that the school office has temporarily relocated for the summer.

Due to ongoing construction work at the school, the school and the grounds are closed as of this week and will remain so until the 2017/18 academic year gets underway on Monday August 28th.

The school office has moved to a unit in the John Street Business Park opposite the school, behind Deli-licious. The school’s phone number is also not in use during the summer. A temporary number – 085 803 159 – should be use.

There’s lots of progress being made on the new ACS build.

Work is currently ongoing at breakneck speed on the new school extension which will provide new, state of-the-art facilities to the students and increase capacity at Ardee CS to around 900 pupils.

As well as the new build going up adjacent to the current building, the current building will undergo an extensive electrical and plumbing upgrade which will in turn see many areas of the current school building upgraded.

The extension is set to cost in the region of €3 million. The new 2911 sq metre standalone building will replace the circa 490 sq metre prefabs that are currently in use.

The work is also including the development upgrades on the existing school building and grounds – including a new hard court, new car parking arrangements, footpath and roadway improvements, fencing and landscaping.
