There are just a small number of places available for the Peter Roe Commerce Cup, taking place this Friday, June 30th at Ardee Golf Club.
The annual event held by Ardee Traders & Business Association is a regular feature in the calendar at Ardee Golf Club. The event was first held by the golf club itself before the Traders took over and held the inaugural edition in 2011.
There are just a handful of places remaining in this year’s event, kindly sponsored by John C Kieran solicitors. The format is a four person scramble with prizes to be won for golfers and non-golfers. All teams submitted must be in the name of a business, organisation or institution – as is customary in this competition.
It costs €100 to enter a team, with food included on the day. Playing time starts at 11am and ends at 5pm with an evening of prize giving and craic to come afterwards. Places can be booked through the gold club Pro Shop on 041 685 7472 or 041 685 3227 ext 26.
The event is a key annual fundraiser for the Traders association and comes soon after the association enjoyed a couple of successes in the form of the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town event and the Bonanza Weekend, held in conjunction with the AOIFA Festival earlier in the month.
The town was booming,” secretary Stephen Englishby told ThisIsArdee.ie. “The crowds that came in were nuts. Coffee shops and restaurants did especially well out of it.”
