Toddlers Hill Creche & Montessori held their Big Toddle on Friday last, all in aid of Barnardos and everyone involved did superbly well to raise a brilliant total of €1,033 for the children’s charity.
The Big Toddle was held out on the green of the Moorehall Rise and the Toddlers Hill children – aged between one and five years – were joined by Mums, Dads and grandparents to do ten laps of the green. They did so in style too – with this year’s pirates theme meaning there was plenty of eye patches, stripes and hats on show.
The event was the creche’s ninth Big Toddle in aid of Barnardos and since getting under way in 2009, €7,000 has been raised for the charity. The kids, parents and staff held a picnic afterwards and with a glorious sun to bask in, the ice-cream for dessert went down a treat with all.
Toddler’s Hill is a purpose built creche and montessori facility which opened in March 2008 in Moorehall Rise, Ardee. There are five children’s rooms catering for each stage of a pre-school child’s development. The individual rooms are designed to meet each age groups developmental stage in a warm and welcoming environment.
Barnardos is an independent children’s charity in Ireland, dealing specifically with vulnerable children and their families. In operation for 55 years, the charity campaigns for child welfare and child protection and also fights to end child poverty.
