McGoey’s Pharmacy opened their second Ardee store on Friday morning – their new outlet taking residence on Ardee’s John Street.
Lots of work has been ongoing in recent weeks and staff and contractors have been very busy in recent days as final preparations have been made to the new store, locally conveniently across from the John Street Surgery in the town.

Speaking to ThisIsArdee.ie today, Johnny McGoey said he was delighted to get his new pharmacy open. “We want to keep it local and we believe in family business,” he said.
“We’d like to welcome Julie O’Dowd back from the UK. We brought her back especially. We believe in local. It’s all for the good and better for Ardee.

“It’s a great location. It’s so handy. 80% of the town live up this way, we have traffic coming from housing estates on both ends and from the school too. The service is there for the whole town.”
Johnny was also very keen to pay tribute to all of the locally based tradesmen and workers who worked so tirelessly to fit the shop out and get it ready for opening.
The new pharmacy is McGoey’s second in Ardee and fourth in total, joining other outlet’s in Dunleer and Drumconrath. The new store has a full pharmacy counter and also stocks make-up (including Pippa Palette and SoSue products -, gifts and day-to-day essentials – with more stock items and ranges to come.
On Friday morning, local MEP Mairead McGuinness was among the first customers to pay a visit, wishing all the very best to Johnny and staff Julie and Sylvia.
