This coming Saturday (May 6th), Ardee Cycling Club will hold a fundraising spinathon – all in aid of their hosting of the An Post Ras Stage 7 finish next month.

The event will take place outside Eamon Martin and Linda Martin’s Wheels and Heels shop and cafe on Castle Street from 10am to 5pm.

There will be fun and music on the day too – so be sure to get over there and support the club. The spinathon will take place three weeks to the day before the famous An Post Ras comes to Ardee – where huge crowds are expected to line the streets for the stage finish as riders make their way from Donegal to Ardee on the penultimate day of competition.

The race itself will get underway on Sunday May 21st and ends Sunday May 28th in Skerries, after the cyclists leave Ardee in the morning heading for the end line in Skerries.

As cyclists enter Ardee on the Saturday, they will make their way from Carrickmacross to Ardee, going through the two roundabouts at the north end of the town, onto Hale Street from the lik road and then down Bridge Street, Castle Street and Market Street to a finish.

The following day, riders will make their way to Castle Street for the ceremonial start at Wheels and Heels, amidst the backdrop of Ardee Castle. Then, they will turn onto the Kells Road and off towards Drumconrath and Navan.

Ardee Cycling Club have played a huge part in bringing the stage finish of the An Post Ras to Ardee so please be sure to support them during their spinathon on Saturday.
