The Ardee Bargain Store will close it’s doors in the coming weeks.
Today (Tuesday), signs went up in the window of the popular shop on Market Street in the town advising customers of the impending closure. This evening, proprietor Carmel Kelledy confirmed to ThisIsArdee.ie that the shop will be closing soon, although no date has been given.
‘We regret to inform you that due to the retirement of the owner, the Ardee Bargain Store will close in a few weeks. Donna and I would like to thank you, our customers, for all your support and custom during the past few years. It was very much appreciated,’ read the sign in the window today.
‘We will be sad at leaving and will miss the business and the customers. Best wishes and many thanks to you all.’
Situated in the part of old home of Amy Hargrave on the main street, the Ardee Bargain Store has long been a favourite of locals in the town for household items, toiletries, fancy goods, toys, cards, gifts and more. Its closure will be a significant loss to the town, especially following the closure earlier this month of another longstanding business in the town – Walshs.
