Ardee Concert Band’s senior band was in Navan on Sunday for the 52nd annual IABCB National Bands Championships – and they finished second in the main competition, as well as taking home a prize for Best Brass Section.
Following on from last year’s ‘Best Own Choice’ award and the youth band’s double success in 2015, this time the senior group and their conductor Brendan Breslin won the ‘Best Brass Section’ award and also took home the second place award, having earned 138 out of 150 marks in total.
