Congratulations are in order for local business Jem Heads after they were named Ireland’s best wedding accessories provider at the Irish Wedding Awards which took place on Sunday evening.
Stickillen based Jem Heads were among three local businesses nominated for gongs at first annual Irish Wedding Awards which were held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Dublin Airport last night. The awards saw winners picked in 21 different categories – many of which are then organised by region with awards given out in each area.
Jem Heads, the online shop specialising in wedding hats, fascinators and hair pieces, is run by Julie Durrigan and was named the very best Wedding Accessories Provider of the Year at the ceremony in an extremely tough category which featured nine other businesses from Kildare, Galway, Kilkenny, Donegal, Dublin, Kerry and Wicklow. You can check out the very latest Jem Heads designs over on their Facebook page or you can e-mail [email protected] Alternatively, you can call Julie on 087 112 0104 for more information or with any queries.
The win caps a remarkable time for Julie and Jem Heads. Having only founded the business in 2015, it has grown to become one of the biggest and best suppliers of fascinators and wedding hats in the country. On receipt of her award, Julie said, “I want to say thank you to everyone for voting and to my family for putting up with me. This is for anyone who’s a mammy out there.”
Elsewhere, there was no success for Irish Street-based Cherry Blossom Weddings in the Florist of the Year category (Borders) but there was a Louth triumph in that category as Dundalk’s The Flower Studio won through to the national shortlist where they were named Ireland’s best Wedding Florist.
