One man has been taken to hospital and the N2 has reopened just south of Ardee after a two car collision occurred at around 12pm today between Anaglog and Funshog.

Units of the fire service, ambulance and Gardai from Ardee attended the scene of the crash which had left part of the road at Funshog – between Hunterstown and Collon – closed.

Gardai confirmed the incident was a ‘serious RTC’. The incident is believed to have been a head-on collision involving a jeep and a car.

The road has since reopened to traffic and the vehicles have been removed from the scene. The man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with injuries.
